thus, here we are with the second half of massive 45k chapter that was
meant to be Ch18! The end of Bell, Hörn and Mikoto's journey to the Safe
Zone and all the dangers that still lie before them.
This one's a little delayed because I actually thought I'd append a bit of an epilogue on, showing something fun and a little sexy in the Safe Zone (can't have two chapters without anything sexy, can I!?) but no matter how I wrote or re-wrote or re-thought about it, I just didn't like it more than the original ending. The original ending fits the scene and tone, I think, so I've stuck with it. The chapter is exactly the same as the previous one uploaded here.
The scene I was trying to write as a revised ending will instead be the start of Ch20, which you guys will hopefully see very soon! Look forward to it, I think it's fun!
