Weekly Update

Similar (but better) story this week. Work's gone really well on the chapter, but it's not yet complete. It's sitting at a little over 16k words, and for anyone who's followed the outline, I'm through to just before they leave from Ylisstol.

 

I've added a small sex scene between Robin and Lucina before the meeting.

 

And as a response to the poll I put out, I'll see about adding a sexual scene between Robin and Cordelia before he leaves. Although, that'll depend on what I can get added and whether or not the scene will work... It's a scene idea I like a lot, but it's definitely amusingly controversial in the comments!

 

Anyhow, look forward to a more exciting update next time!

Weekly Update

Still chipping away on Ch18. Not done yet, but I'm fairly happy with the progress I've made, especially today, since I managed to pretty much dedicate the whole day to just finding a quiet place and writing, which was nice.

 

A little worried it's gonna end up being a ridiculously long "Why didn't you split this into two?" chapter, but I think people are at least somewhat used to those kind'a chapters from me by now, hopefully it's not a turn off.

 

Heading back to work this week though, which is a headspin. Holidays are a fast and fleeting joy, c'est la vie.

Weekly Update

Probably not to anyone's great surprise, I haven't managed to finish in time for Christmas. Mostly because the few days I had dedicated, set aside for writing ended up being taken up by family. Fun overall, of course, but not very productive.

 

I literally got up early today, got everything I needed to do sorted, sat down to start actually writing because I wanted to either get a chapter finished to upload before Christmas or at least get some real progress done and be close... But then right as I get started my brother uses the key I'd given him to open up my house.

 

Apparently he'd checked out of the hotel/appartment he was staying in today and was coming over to crash with me instead. And he's brought his Switch so he could play BoTW on my TV (which doubles as my computer monitor, it's a large TV which makes for a nice monitor). 

 

Ahwell, more importantly, Merry Christmas everyone! Look for more from me soon!

Weekly Update

Not a lot to say this week, still slogging away, making progress as I can. I'm sticking to my claim that I'll be aiming to have this chapter up before Christmas/NY, but seeing as I've just found out that I'm apparently going to be hosting family from the 20th, I may need to amend that, as things play out.

I'll update more as I know more.

 

I did manage to lose 300 orbs in FEH, only to find out that Echidna is apparently a 4/5* unit rather than just a 4* though, so that's... something...

Weekly Update

Just a relatively small update today, and kind'a late at night since it took a while transferring everything across to text/GoogleDocs.

Still a lot to do. It's a busy time of year with a lot of things delaying me (apparently work Christmas dinner tomorrow, which ends sometime around midnight, so doubtful I'll get anything done) but I'm still aiming to be done before Christmas.

Ch18 Story Outline is finished and will be uploaded on Patreon shortly.

Goddamn it's huge though, I've written overly detailed notes, sometimes basically all but writing out a full scene, but still, it's clocking in at 10,000 words of notes. Considering I've seen 4-5k word outlines turn into 20k stories, I'm a little worried this one may end up being a bit unwieldy.

Especially since it's only got one sex-scene. That's a big chapter to just have one actual proper sex scene at the end.

Definitely interested in any feedback here:

Should I cut out the backstory stuff and just gloss over or imply it? Is it enough to be told that Say'ri loves Robin, should we see why she does? At least when I did the Tharja flashback, it was Robin and Tharja having sex.

Or go the whole other way and give a full dedicated chapter to their past in Valm, to cover her and Tiki's emotions. Any sex scenes here would be between Robin and Lissa obviously, given the time period. Or maybe do something fun and put Robin with Kagerou too, which would give their meeting in the present a reunion aspect.

Or should I trim the fat through the story more, are there scenes that just serve for world/character building that should be cut?

Or do you think it's fine as is?

Because I'm so concerned about this, I'm gonna open up the Viewing version to every Patreon rather than locking it away at the $50 tier. That's not exactly fair to anyone at that tier, so I'll bump the editing version down to the $50 tier instead.

Otherwise, all feedback welcomed! Hopefully you think it'll be a fun chapter and will look forward to it! I worry sometimes that it's only me and one other person that actually likes Say'ri...

Actually not a very amazing one this time. I haven't quite finished the outline for the next ACoT Chapter yet (Say'ri's introduction).

It's actually been a little daunting going back to my old notes and structuring how this is going to work... and realising "Wow, this is BIG." Might end up having to trim it down a bit.

I was originally going to do a fully fleshed out flashback to them in Valm during the war, directly showing everything that's happened between Say'ri, Tiki, Lucina and Robin back then. But that'll probably get trimmed down a little, for the sake of keeping this story from becoming another 30k monstrosity!

In any case, I wound up having my family around as part of the typical visits en route to Christmas, so I didn't have a chance to write all the end of last week and through the weekend and wasn't able to get it done this afternoon. I'll aim to get and outline done and uploaded in the next few days, and then crack on with writing.
